As much as I have resisted, my kids have made their way into the world of devices. As I am sure you are aware, with devices come the internet.
Which makes me shudder.
My goal is to preserve my children’s innocence as long as I possibly can, the last thing that I would want to have happen, is them stumbling across a website that isn’t very appropriate for them.
Enter the CUJO Smart Firewall.
Here is the scoop. The CUJO’s whole MO is to make it simple to protect your home network at a level that most businesses have. CUJO secures your entire network by hooking up to your WiFi router, with this small device! CUJO detects and blocks malicious sites, viruses, and hacks. Think of it like antivirus for your entire network.
While all of those things are great, here is what I like the most. You can control what your kids are able to access online.
Setting up the CUJO Smart Firewall
You don’t have to be employed in the IT department to be able to install the CUJO, which is a huge bonus in my book. In just under 15 minutes, I had plugged the CUJO into my router, followed the instructions on the website, and downloaded the app which is in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Connect once and protect everything.
Once the setup is complete then every device on your network is protected. This is a feature that I like because you don’t have to set up protection for each individual device. Each device on your network will appear on your app, and there are some individual controls that are available. You can set internet filters, pause the internet (ahem, you know when you are having trouble getting your kids’ attention) and should someone encounter a suspicious site, you will get a report about it. Soon, there will be the ability to set time limits on individual devices (insert evil laugh here)
Additionally, should you have a device that you’d rather not connect to CUJO, there is an option for that as well.
In such an uncertain world, it is nice to have technology working with you, not against you. The goal is to make your life easier, and I dare say that CUJO has done just that.
