When was the last time you stayed at a Hampton Inn? If it has been a while you are in for a very nice surprise!
When my family went to Huntsville, Alabama recently for a long weekend we were scheduled to stay at the Hampton Inn in the Research Park area of town. The hotel is with in walking distance of a newly opened Cabela’s the first in the state by the way, and across the street from a very large new shopping center with a huge variety of shops and restaurants.
Upon arrival, I was struck by how bright and contemporary everything looked from the front desk to the area that is used in the mornings for the continental breakfast and is a nice place to sit and work during the day or evening.
We had a 2 queen bed studio suite style room and it was huge! The middle of the room was divided with a desk area, separating the sides of the room. The side of the room opposite the beds had a couch that pulled out and an arm chair. As you entered the room there was a kitchenette type area with a sink, microwave, and a mini-fridge.
In the morning a fantastic continental breakfast is offered from 6 until 10, with a huge variety of food to choose from. Hello, waffle bar with fancy toppings! My kids loved the juice machine and commented many times that we should get one of those for our home!
After coming in from a day of busy sightseeing, we enjoyed talking football with the staff on Saturday afternoon. The hotel kept coffee and tea in the lobby which was a bonus for my husband who had been fighting a bit of a cold.
Just a side note, this particular hotel has an outdoor pool only. While we were in town it was a bit chilly to swim. It didn’t make a difference to my family because we had so many other things to do and see. However, I do realize that some people choose hotels based on that fact!
We loved our stay!

My hubby travels a lot for work and sometimes I go with him...before his company was acquired by another company, we stayed a lot in Hilton hotels. I was disappointed that this new company is not so generous and prefers Hamptons! But you know, I was surprised, there really isn't much of a difference, except for price! They're generally equally as nice!
