I was recently contacted by At Home about taking part in their college move-in release of products. Before you go and further and wonder how it could possibly apply to you, trust me, it does. The products are beautiful and work for lots of different spaces, no matter if you are headed for college or are *ahem* a few years past your college days.
My plan for my shopping trip was to grab a few items to spruce up my half bathroom. I am not quite sure why it never really got the love that it needed but here we are almost ten years after moving into the house and it still needs some love. As a matter of fact, a few of my rooms still need some love but I digress.
I will be honest, I envy my friends that can take different pieces and put them together and make something out of pieces they pick up here and there. I am not one of those people.
After leaving At Home the other day, I truly felt like it would be possible to become one of those people. My local store is huge and I spend what felt like a long time looking at all of the different possibilities. I fell in love with the different options that At Home is giving to college students to make their dorm feel more homey. In fact, they make it easy with checklist for college students!
Here is the thing. The college move-in line was beautiful and had pieces that I would absolutely put in my own home. The other thing that I really liked about the store, in general, was the fact that everything was very reasonably priced. Which is a good thing for a gal on a budget.
So here was my plan for my half bathroom. There is a large blank wall that faces out
when the door is open, and it is always open unless someone is using it. I literally had one very small piece hanging in the middle of the wall and nothing else. So my mission was to find pieces to create a ‘gallery’ type wall.
I gave myself a budget of $50 and I was so pleasantly surprised by all that I came out with. At Home regularly has some amazing sales so be sure to be on the look out for those when you go. In fact, we got our Christmas tree there during their after Christmas sale. I can’t wait to see what it looks like set up!
So with out any further wait, here is a picture of my bathroom before the goodies that I picked up.
Granted, I wasn’t allowed to hang them. The hubs muttered something about needing to measure and make sure that the pictures were level. I don’t typically take time to do that, but that is another story for another day.
I am very pleased with how the wall turned out, especially since it had virtually nothing on it. When I am in the bathroom, the room truly seems bigger!
I love that At Home has so many amazing pieces for such a low price. It is enough that it makes me want to spread my decorating wings and tackle other rooms in my home!
