Do you ever wish that you could watch the Disney’s fireworks from the comfort of your pj’s, cleaned up from the day’s heat?
This was our reality when we stayed at Reunion Resort in Orlando Florida. We are big fans of staying off property, our family does better with some separation from all of the Disney magic.
Located just 10 minutes away from Disney property Reunion Resort is a welcomed retreat from the busy-ness of the parks.
Reunion offers a wide variety of lodging options, including rental homes (some with pools!) should you decide that a larger area like a house is better for your group.
The Grande at Reunion Resort
Our accommodations were located in the main building of the property, past the rental homes and the lush golf course.
The lobby exuded a simple elegance that instantly made you feel as far as possible from Disney, which after a long day at the parks was a welcomed sight.
Our villa was located inside the main building, ready to get cleaned up after one of Florida’s notorious humid days, we made our way up to our home away from home for the night.
We were greeted by a spacious, 2 bedroom villa, a breath of fresh air after the 2 days we spent in a standard size hotel room. All four of us were exhausted but yet we were still toying with the idea of heading back to the Magic Kingdom for fireworks and just a bit more fun.
That was until we were told that we would be able to see the fireworks from all of the parks from the comfort of our balcony. The information that we were given, sealed the deal, showers were taken, jammies were put on and room service was ordered. We were in for the night.
Spectacular Service
We received fantastic service from the moment we checked in but the staff member who delivered the room service that we ordered went above and beyond.
My youngest kiddo has some very definitive thoughts about how he likes to eat his hamburger. He wants the burger, bun and cheese and nothing else. Well, when we were being shown our food, little man discovered that his burger didn’t have any cheese on it. Which really wasn’t a huge deal, but the upon the insistence of the sweet staff member he ran back down to get a slice of cheese for the burger (we had to stop him from remaking the burger). When he returned he had with him, enough cheese for my entire family and a special treat. Ice cream and root beer to make root beer floats, it was such a nice gesture that was completely unnecessary.
However, those simple things are the moments that stick with you, winning customers for life. There is so much to a hotel beyond the thread count of sheets and the amenities.
Our Room at Reunion Resort
My family and I were able to stay in a 2 bedroom villa, it was lovely. It featured a full kitchen, stocked with all of the utensils that one needs to cook dinner in, which is so nice and often more cost effective. The master bedroom had a king size bed and a very large bathroom with a gigantic walk in shower and a great tub for soaking. The second bedroom was about the same size but had 2 queen size beds, the bathroom was the same set up a large tub and a walk in shower.
Reunion Resort Property Features
On property, you will find 17 pools and an expansive water park. My children were crushed because we arrived 10 minutes after it closed, there are community pools dotted around the property for those who are staying on site.
Additionally, for golf enthusiasts, there is the option for FootGolf, a game played like traditional golf but with a soccer ball. Can you even imagine the photo opps?!
We had a fantastic time while we were at Reunion and it is a great option for families who need a little more room to spread out but still want to be near to Walt Disney World.
