St. Louis has made a name for themselves when it comes to being a family friendly town. With a wide variety of both free and paid attractions you won’t find a shortage of ways to entertain your family.
But until recently, an aquarium in the Gateway City, had been nothing but a passing thought.
More than just the locals are excited about the aquarium, the rare blue lobster that was found recently? It has even been donated to the St. Louis Aquarium, in honor of the Blue’s Stanley Cup win.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to see the progress of the aquarium. The setting is so incredibly unique, the history of Union Station is preserved while breathing new life into the building.
In fact, the Curio Collection by Hilton located inside of Union Station will have rooms looking directly into the aquarium. Roughly there are about 30 hotel rooms that will have a birds-eye view directly into the action.
Here is what we know at the upcoming opening of the St. Louis Aquarium
When does the St. Louis Aquarium open?
The aquarium is set to open Christmas Day 2019.
What are the hours of St. Louis Aquarium?
Hours are set to run as follows below.
How much will tickets be to the St. Louis Aquarium?
General admission tickets will allow access to all of the Aquarium’s galleries, exhibits and interactive experiences. The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station will have timed ticketing to save our guests waiting in long queue lines.
Adult tickets are $25 and Kid tickets are $18.
Additionally, Union Station is also home to a 18 hole miniature golf course, a new carousel and the St. Louis wheel. The St. Louis wheel is a 200 foot tall observation wheel!
What types of animals will be at the St. Louis Aquarium?
In addition to the sea life that you’d typically expect from an aquarium, the otter exhibit is set to be the star of the show.
Guests will also have the chance to get up close and personal with a sloth who will be in the main floor area, with a handler of course!
The excitement about the opening is contagious and we can’t wait to see the final product!
