It is no secret that there is an abundance of family-friendly events that take place during December here in Louisville, Kentucky!

Each year, Louisville embraces the Lights Under Louisville Event that takes place yearly, dazzling Christmas lovers and even some Grinches who might have been pulled along for the ride!

So, if you’re looking for a great holiday light display in Louisville, chances are the Louisville Mega Cavern has made it to your radar or might even be at the top of your Holiday Bucket list with your family.

The Mega Cavern and the Louisville Zoo have partnered this year to provide a dinner option for those wanting just a little bit more from their Lights Under Louisville experience.

Those who have purchased tickets are instructed to arrive at the zoo, between 6:30 and 7 pm. Upon arriving at the zoo, guests are given a packet which includes a skip the line VIP ticket. Please note this ticket has to be used the same night as the dinner.  At 7pm a dinner buffet is served.

When we walked into the African Outpost at the Louisville Zoo, we were immediately greeted by dimmed lights, festive decor, seasonal sounds and Santa!

The dinner buffet consisted of salad, green beans, roasted potatoes, carved roasted turkey, rolls and a slice of pumpkin pie.

On our way out to see the lights we grabbed a hot chocolate for the road and got into the car for the lights portion of our Dinner and Lights experience.
